If you share your life with a dog, you want the best for them. If used correctly, dog gadgets can be very useful to improve the quality of life of our pets, keep them entertained or make things easier for us, their owners. There are all kinds of gadgets on the market, some technological and others more conventional, that aim to help, amuse or interact with our pets. Some are really practical, while others stand out for their original design, but what is undeniable is that gadgets for dogs arouse everyone's curiosity.
2 - What are the main drawbacks of dog gadgets ?
Dog accessories or gadgets can be interesting, original and even useful, but they are not strictly necessary for the care of your pet. It is true that, on occasions, they can make things easier for us, but we should never make the mistake of believing that these gadgets can replace outdoor exercise, walks or our company and love. If you are thinking of getting a gadget for your dog, we recommend that you filter the decision through the most important filter: is it really something your dog needs and is it really going to do them good? If so, here are some of the most curious gadgets for dogs.
It may not be the most sophisticated or modern gadget , but we think it's one of the most useful on this list. If you're going on a long car journey with your dog and the temperatures are high, we highly recommend this device, which is easily installed in the door of the carrier. It can also be used in transport crates and, in addition, it usually has several speeds so that you can adjust the power to the needs of each moment. In the closed environment of a car and having to stay for several hours in the confined space of a kennel, a dog can become very hot. These small fans promote air circulation, cooling and soothing your pet.

This is one of those gadgets that, although it doesn't help our dogs at all, doesn't do them any harm either and can be very useful for their owners. If every time you go to take a photo of your pet, they turn their face or moves at the last second, resulting in a blur, don't despair: you can always resort to this original selfie clip. How it works is very simple: just attach it to the top of your phone like a clip. The trick? It comes with a holder where you can place your dog's favourite treat. This will get their attention so that, for a moment, they`ll look at the camera. Then, of course, reward them with the snack for being so obedient and photogenic.

After every walk, our dogs can bring home a lot of dirt on their paws. Whether in the city or in the country, the ground our pets walk on is full of bacteria, dirt, plants, insects... To avoid having to wash your dog's paws every time they come through the door, we recommend this paw plunger in the shape of a tube, which is filled with lukewarm water and carefully inserted into the animal's paw. Then, just make gentle circular movements and the bristles inside will do the rest. This way you can remove dirt from your dog's paws quickly and easily, preventing them from staining your floor, carpets or sofa, but also protecting them from infections and wounds.

If you love running with your dog, this is the gadget for you. It's a leash that fits around your waist, leaving your hands free for added comfort. This leash has a locking system that makes it super secure and also features a reflective design for night walks. It also has room for two dogs. It seems to us a very simple but practical invention that will allow you to enjoy a walk or run with your best friend without having to worry about holding the leash all the time.

With this gadget you can keep an eye on your dog 24 hours a day. It is attached to the animal's collar and connects to an app on your Android phone or iPhone, which will notify you if your pet leaves your home. It also offers a step tracker that allows you to monitor your dog's activity. It is not recommended for very small dogs or puppies, as although it has a discreet size, it could be heavy and annoying for them. Although this is a very useful device that can help you find your dog quickly if they get lost, don't let your guard down. Even if you know where your dog is, you don't know what dangers they may be in without your protection and supervision.

In the world of dog gadgets, there is a wide variety of interactive toys designed to entertain and stimulate our pets. One of our favourites is the Enabot Ebo Pro, which won the prestigious Red Dot design award in 2020. This sort of spherical robot has AI technology that allows it to recognise and differentiate between people, dogs and cats. It has a bunch of different play modes to entertain your dog, which you can access manually or schedule at a certain time of day. Plus, it's a powerful HD camera so you can keep an eye on your dog at all times and even talk to them so they don't feel lonely.

Like the previous gadget, this device will allow you to keep an eye on your dog through its camera. It is installed on the wall, connected to your home's wifi and controlled via the app installed on your phone. As well as allowing you to see what your pet is doing when you are not at home, you can also talk to them dispense their favourite treats and even activate aromatherapy with scents that make them feel good.
Although gadgets for pets can help us in their care or make our life with them easier, we must not forget that they can never replace our care, love and attention. They can function as a support in specific moments, but our dog needs us by their side and not even the highest resolution camera in the world can make them feel as if we are really by their side.
In addition, we need to make sure that the gadgets are comfortable and appropriate for the size and character of our pet. For example, some GPS trackers are too big or heavy and take away freedom of movement in the neck area of the animal. It is also possible that your dog is very shy and sensitive and does not react well to an interactive toy with a lot of movement or sound.
As always, we recommend that you think about your pet's needs and opt for gadgets that make it easier for you to live together and, above all, that are of benefit to your beloved friend.
